ANGE POSTECOGLOU is not a fan of how Hibs tried to waste time at every given opportunity.
Many teams that face Celtic adopt the tactic. Celtic like to play a fast-paced game with a flow.
To disrupt this, teams do anything they can to run down the clock, especially if they are level or winning.
Mark McGhee’s Dundee took it to a new level and were time-wasting from the first minute.
Celtic can count themselves lucky, dropping points gave their rivals a big chance to close the gap, but a 2-2 goal at home against Motherwell denied them the opportunity to do so.
CeltsAreHere attended the post-match press conference when Ange revealed he wasn’t pleased with Shaun Maloney’s set-up. He said;
“I’m not a fan of it, but I get why teams do it. What do you do? That’s part of football and that’s part of the challenge.”
Ange may not be pleased with it, but if teams want to set up, there is nothing to stop them.
The referee should manage the game well enough to discourage teams from doing so; this isn’t always the case.
