‘None of the Players Believed Me’ – Oh Sets Celtic Record Straight

Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-gyu bagged himself a brace against Hibs during the week. The Hoops ended up dismantling the Leith side by four goals to one.

In the match, the opener was scored by the South Korean internationalist, although he has revealed that few believed him. Oh said (Glasgow Times): “It was a very important touch, but I don’t think anyone realised I had touched it.

“None of the players believed me. Even the stadium announcer said it was Cameron’s goal. I said, ‘No! No! No!’ But I was very thankful to Cameron for giving me the opportunity to contribute to the goal.”

At first glance, it certainly seemed as though the goal was Carter-Vickers’. On reflection, though, one can see the slight touch the ball took off the knee of Oh.

In typical fashion of a striker, the 22-year-old didn’t let up and insisted the goal be given to him. It rightly was, and the treble-winning frontman kickstarted a man-of-the-match performance from it.
