Postecoglou is asked at the end of the interview if he expects to have any of his injured players back for this weekend’s trip Kilmarnock. Rather disappointingly for Celtic, the Australian doesn’t think he will:

“I think it’s probably unlikely at this stage.

“I think from the medical report and again thinking about the venue and the pitch we’re probably going to be a bit conservative with some of the boys so unlikely to be anyone coming back from this last weekend.”

It is a rather wise move from Celtic and Postecoglou to not risk any players who are just recovering from injury, whether it be short or long term, on a plastic pitch.

This does mean, though, that the likes of Reo Hatate, Liel Abada, Anthony Ralston and James Forrest will all till be missing for the Kilmarnock game on Sunday.

Despite this, one imagines Celtic will have sufficient firepower to go to Rugby Park and emerge victorious. After all, it will be the same squad that was available for the Glasgow derby that is eligible for this one.
