It appears a week can’t go by without someone down Ibrox way talking the talk.
For years now every offseason we hear the same thing over and over again to nauseating levels. From Joey Barton to Mark Warburton, Andy Halliday, Wes Foderingham, Martyn Waghorn, Josh Windass, Kyle Lafferty etc. Celtic have been told The Rangers are coming and they’re going to win the league.
In January, Celtic and the Ibrox club were on the same points with the champions having a game in hand. They signed Jermain Defoe who believed the title was coming home also only to lose out again.
Jordan Jones has signed from Kilmarnock and before he’s even taken part his first Ibrox training session he’s telling everyone they’re going to win the league.
The only thing with Jones is, he’s less forthright about when that will come. However, considering Celtic are two titles away from ten in a row that’s not what the Ibrox support want to hear.
“We are going to be playing European football in front of big crowds and I have no doubt we will win the league at some point – hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later.” Jones told FootballScotland.
