DAVID TURNBULL won’t face further punishment for his challenge on Dylan McGeough, CeltsareHere has been told.
It’s been trial by media for the past 48 hours in the wake of the 1-1 draw at Pittofrie.
Turnbull swept the legs from underneath McGeough during the game and Willie Collum was quick to get out the yellow card.
There had been shouts from certain quarters of the media and rival fans to suspend one of Celtic’ best performers this season but those calls have not been answered.
The decision.
While the media treated it like a flashpoint, it was never really that. Because Celtic’s games are dead rubbers, the narratives coming out of football games have to be spun in order to fill pages.
The off chance any pressure in the public domain would affect the end result would have been an added bonus for anyone calling on Turnbull to get a retrospective suspension.
The player will be available for the Ibrox game in a week’s time and will most certainly start the match.
