New Celtic signing Nicolas Kuhn was unveiled at half-time in today’s 5-0 thumping of Highland League side Buckie Thistle. The German received raucous applause from the supporters who welcomed their only January addition to date.
Signed from Rapid Vienna in Austria for around three million pounds, the acquisition of Kuhn enticed many supporters. For this afternoon’s match, however, he was unavailable.
Manager Brendan Rodgers’ let supporters know midweek that the winger wouldn’t be involved today, although Kuhn was eager to get on the pitch. Indeed, at the break today in an interview with Viaplay, Kuhn said: “I actually want to play the second half already.”

Understandably, the 24-year-old wants to get going imminently. He would have fancied himself to bag a goal or two in today’s game versus Buckie, but it wasn’t to be.
Next week, though, Kuhn could get his chance. Ross County are due to come to town in the Scottish Premiership.
Once more against another Highland side, Kuhn will want to get involved. He was asked about his potential inclusion in the match earlier today: “Wednesday was my first training session with the team. Next week I will train fully and we will see.”
