Nicolas Kuhn To Celtic Latest – Sporting Director Changes His Tune

Celtic need January reinforcements in many positions. Manager Brendan Rodgers is eager to strengthen the squad going into what is a crucial second half of the season.

Several players have been linked to the Hoops so far, one being winger Nicolas Kuhn. The 24-year-old plays his football with Rapid Vienna in Austria having spent time in the prestigious academies of Ajax and Bayern Munich as a youngster.

Despite initial links to the player, Vienna’s sporting director, Markus Katzer, admitted over the weekend that he doesn’t think his team will sell anyone in January. This put a dampener on any potential move for Kuhn, but Katzer seems to have gone back on himself.

As reported by Sky Sports (via Football Scotland), Kutzer has left the door open to a transfer: “Every player has his price”, he said. “If the offer is right, of course you have to deal with it.”

Many may have thought a move for Kuhn to Glasgow seemed unlikely after the weekend’s comments from Kutzer, although now, minds have changed.

Celtic undoubtedly has the funds to provide the Austrian capital club with the ‘right offer’ for one of their key assets who would strengthen the Parkhead attacking ranks. Whether they will make a move remains to be seen, but the German winger certainly seems to be someone who is of interest to the champions.
