Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn believes Rangers’ Jefte was lucky not to be sent off after an incident that left the German nursing a busted nose during the derby clash at Ibrox.

Kühn required on-field treatment late in the first half after Jefte caught him with a swinging elbow, leaving the winger with a visible gash and lingering dizziness. Referee Don Robertson issued a yellow card for the challenge, a decision that VAR official Nick Walsh did not overturn.
Speaking after the St Mirren match, Kuhn expressed surprise that Jefte avoided a red card, noting that an earlier foul in the same sequence might also have been taken into account.
When asked if the challenge from Jefte could’ve been more than a yellow, he replied: [Celtic TV]
“Yeah, I’m not the VAR, but yeah.
“Yeah, there was also a kick, but yeah, as we said, it was not our best game. The situation, I don’t decide, and we have to keep going.
“Actually, I didn’t realise what happened, so afterwards I didn’t know if it was yellow or anything else, so that’s not the most important.
“The most important was that we showed a reaction today, and now we focus on the next game.”
Had Ranger been reduced to 10 men, especially a defender making way, the game would’ve been totally different.
But, whether it was a red card or not, Celtic simply weren’t good enough at Ibrox. They were off the boil but dusted themselves down and responded well with a win against St Mirren.
For what it’s worth, I don’t think the challenge was more than a yellow. If roles were reversed, I would feel extremely hard down by if Kuhn was sent off.
