Nicolas Kühn could be in line for a swift reunion with Celtic just weeks after leaving Glasgow.

The 25-year-old has joined the Italian outfit as part of Cesc Fabregas’ plans for the new campaign, and early signs suggest he’s settling quickly into life in Italy. With the pre-season tournament set to feature Celtic, Ajax and Al Ahli, there’s every chance Kühn could line up against one of his two former sides.
Celtic will take on Ajax in their semi-final, while Como host Saudi side Al Ahli. Depending on the results, Kühn could face Celtic in either the final or the third-place match, and he’s made no secret of how much he’d enjoy that.
Having also spent time at Ajax before his spell in Glasgow, Kühn sees the tournament as an early chance to make his mark in Italy against familiar opposition.
He said: “I’ll definitely play against one of my former teams because we will play either Celtic or Ajax.
“If we could play against Celtic, I would be really excited to face all my teammates from last season.
“I can’t wait to play in the tournament.
“My beginnings at Como have gone really well. I like the Italian atmosphere and the team is fantastic, everyone is helping me settle in and I’m really happy to be here.
“The training centre is fantastic, the quality is high, and so far everything has been perfect.
“I think we have a lot of very good players in the squad.”

The Como Cup may only be a warm-up, but for Kühn, a chance to face his old teammates could add a bit of fire to an otherwise friendly fixture.
Celtic are expected to rotate their squad for the trip, giving fringe players a chance to impress, but a potential match-up with a now Serie A opponent would still offer a useful benchmark.
