Newspaper’s Petty Attack on Celtic Fans

CELTIC FANS swamped the city centre this weekend after the team won a historic treble treble hoping to catch a glimpse of their heroes on an open top bus.

The fans were in a partying mood, so much so, when the bus was cancelled by the police for safety reasons the fans just held a part of their own. There was no ill will, no trouble and no real upset about the bus not coming. Instead the fans revelled in the club’s accomplishment and did it in a good spirit.

However, the Evening Times aren’t happy that there has been some litter left behind!

Thousands in the city centre and Gallowgate, good spirited celebrations going on and what was the ET photographer doing? Taking pictures of empty beer bottles.

There were no extra bins put out on the street by the council and any bins surrounding the area were full already. Celtic had put in the request a month in advance and there was no preparation done whatsoever.

Yes, this newspaper actually went out their way to point out there was litter left on the streets from the weekend and slammed the Celtic fans for not finding the nearest bin.

The best part, while the place looks a bit rough, it’s actually not that bad considering the volume of people.

Next time we see an Evening Times lying on the streets of Glasgow we’ll be sure to slam the ET readers for not keeping Glasgow clean.
