It has been confirmed that there will be no reprieve on the away allocation for Glasgow derby games, despite a change in management at Ibrox.
The club famously shut Celtic fans out in numbers after years of suffering heavy defeats while 7k Celtic fans partied in the stand.
Celtic rejected their last ticket allocation at Ibrox due to safety. Celtic fans were penned into a corner of Ibrox where they are sitting ducks for any home supporter who wants to throw objects at them. CeltsAreHere was in attendance at the last game at Ibrox when Celtic fans were in the corner and watched as a bottle smashed over a Celtic supporters head. The bottle thrown from above.
It prompted Celtic to challenge the Ibrox club on the allocation, making it clear the only arrangement was much more safer and contributed to the fixture. It was shut down by the former Ibrox management and Celtic had zero choice but to turn down the 600 tickets they were offered.
With new men in place, there’s going to be no return to the old allocation, which would effectively mean more away fan shut outs.
🔊 LISTEN: Incoming Rangers CEO James Bisgrove says Old Firm games at Ibrox will have a maximum of 800 away fans next season.
He also says a return to the traditional allocation is “very unlikely”. pic.twitter.com/kjxMWkq6hP
