Celtic yesterday completed the signing of young Barcelona left-back Alex Valle on a season-long loan deal.

Highly rated in Catalonia, the youngster comes in to provide some much-needed competition to Greg Taylor.
He will likely be on the bench for this weekend’s Glasgow derby, and could perhaps be given a baptism of fire later on in the game.
An attacking full-back, Valle looks as though he will slot nicely into Brendan Rodgers’ system. He thinks it will suit him to a tee.
“If I had to say one (system), I would say this way of playing”, he said (Celtic Football Club on X).
“I think it’s the best for my style and what I like.”
Valle will look to thrive in Glasgow under the stewardship of Rodgers. The boss reportedly played a key role in convincing Valle to join the Hoops, which is encouraging.
On paper, the signing of a Spain youth international left-back who is a product of La Masia is impressive, but there remains more to be done by Celtic in what remains of the transfer window.
Rodgers is after two midfielders and a centre-back, while fans also wouldn’t be against the addition of another attacker.
With under 48 hours to go, though, time is ticking for the squad to be strengthened.
