NEIL LENNON has hinted to Celtic fans not to expect wholesale changes for Partick Thistle’s visit to Celtic Park on Wednesday night.
The bhoys have a quarter-final Cup date with their Glasow rivals midweek and while many have looked at the game to bring some players in who haven’t been getting game time – Neil Lennon is not going to take liberties.
Speaking after the 3-1 win against Kilmarnock at the weekend, the Celtic manager made it clear there would be no taking Partick lightly in their quest to deliver a fourth consecutive League Cup trophy.
He points to Dunfermline in the previous round as proof Celtic can’t be asleep at the wheel or take any result for granted.
With so many fixtures coming up thick and fast it stands to reason one or two players might be rested but overall it’s going to be a strong side if you believe Neil Lennon here.
“We’re not guaranteed to win this Betfred Cup but we’ve got home advantage against Thistle which is good.” Neil Lennon told RecordSport.
“We’re up against a team that could shine in adversity and give us problems like Dunfermline did in the last round.
“So we have to be very wary of it. I’m not going to take this tournament lightly – we’ll have a strong team out that’s capable of winning the game.”
