Neil Lennon Summer Signing Admits Parkhead Career is All but Over

MORITZ BAUER has opened up at his time at Celtic and acknowledged it might just be over already.

The Austrian has been in the outskirts of the team all season. He came in to be cover for Hatem Elhamed but in the final day of the summer window Celtic’s signing of Jeremie Frimpong changed everything.

The right back was soon to be third choice behind both players. Getting glimpses of first team action but not enough to make his mark.

Bauer understands why he didn’t get in the team more often and it has been disappointing for him personally.

Even when Elhamed and Frimpong we’re both out injured the Celtic manager then changed his formation to play without full backs.

Speaking during the shut down, the defender already has his eyes set on another go at Stoke, knowing his Celtic career is all but over.

His impression of Celtic seems to still be positive though.

“I don’t want the season to end. It was an exciting experience for me at Celtic, even if it went bitterly for me.” Bauer told SunSport.

“Losing my place wasn’t down to my performances.

“I’m 28, only on loan from Stoke and relatively expensive.

“I understand what happened because Celtic are building the experience of a younger player.

“When the new season starts at Stoke, I now have the chance to get people talking again about me with my performances.

“I certainly dream of playing for Austria again.”
