Neil Lennon Reveals Manchester United Midfielder Who Would Struggle To Start For Celtic

Former Celtic manager and captain Neil Lennon has revealed the Manchester United midfielder who would struggle to start for Celtic this season.

With Manchester United currently sitting 9th in the English Premier League and Erik ten Hag recently sacked, the Red Devils’ midfielder in particular has been below par, with Lennon going as far as to say one playmaker wouldn’t start for Celtic right now.

He said: (Boyle Sports), “With the talent Celtic have at their disposal at the moment, I’m not sure that Christian Eriksen would get into the team.

“He is a classy player and always has been, but I’m not sure who he would come in to replace. You’d have to consider the wages he’d want as well.

“I can’t see it happening and I’m not sure it would suit the club at the moment.”

Whether Eriksen would start for Celtic currently remains to be seen, with such a competitive midfield at the Hoops.

The Dane is certainly in the twilight of his career at 32 years old.

However, Aaron Mooy proved that with the right mentality, any midfielder can join the Hoops and start.

Starting week in and week out may prove too difficult, with Eriksen only starting five league games this season for Manchester United.

Given that Eriksen has impressed so much throughout his career, Denmark teammate Matt O’Riley would certainly encourage him to join Celtic after such a great time at the club.
