NEIL LENNON issued an update on Mohamed Elyounoussi’s fitness with the midfielder not being seen since the Glasgow Derby Cup final in early December.
The winger was already injured before the cup final and Neil Lennon took a major risk playing the Norweigian in the first place. It didn’t pay off with Moi injuring himself further, having to be subbed at half time during the tie.
We’re about to hit February and there’s been no sign of the player on the training field. Neil Lennon gave this less than optimistic update regarding the player.
“Elyounoussi, we’re hoping will train by the end of the week, he won’t be able to play for a while.” He told BBC Scotland.
After an initial good start to his Celtic career, it looks as if the loan star will have missed the majority of the season by the time he gets back on the field. With a bit of luck, we could have him back for some important games before all is said and done – it’s far from ideal when we only have the player for the season.
The winger is currently valued at £13.5m by TranferMarkt and there’s little hope Celtic will shell out that sort of money in the summer.
