NEIL LENNON made his first punditry gig on Thursday night working as a BBC 5 Live pundit covering Man United vs AC Milan.
The Irishman resigned from the club three weeks ago after the season from hell. It was a defeat to Ross County that was the final straw but in reality, it should have been the cup defeat to the exact same team last year.
The former Celtic manager was obviously asked about his current situation and if he sees himself going back into management in the near future.
His response was 100% yes.
“Yes, absolutely.” The Lurgan Bhoy confirmed on-air as cited by SunSport. “Listen, I had a brilliant time at Celtic. It just wasn’t our season this season.
“But the players have achieved incredible things up there in the last sort of five or six years.
“It was a real privilege.
“I’ve had a bit of a break, stayed in the house like everybody else is doing at the minute.
“But I’m sure I’ll get the itch sooner rather than later.
“I am really enjoying what I am doing tonight, I have to say John. It’s brilliant to be here.”
‘It just wasn’t our season’ comment from Neil will be a tough pill to swallow because it really could have been our season if he was removed from his position much sooner.
The board doubled and trebled down on the manager who had clearly lost control of the situation and ran out of ideas. They made the decision when to shut the stable doors when the horse had already bolted.
Neil is a legend at Celtic but it’s going to take a while for this season to die down before people celebrate the former player, coach and manager.
As for his future, the Irishman is clearly is putting himself out there for a new job in the not too distant future.
