The PSG youngster scored the only goal of the game as the USA head to the next round.
Weah opted to not miss any of the World Cup competition when he was given the opportunity to leave the camp and first game of the group stages to take part in the Scottish Cup final. His refusal to the compromise seen Neil Lennon expedite his Parkhead exit and he was told to pack his bags and go immediately before the Ibrox game.
Weah is a proud American and will feel vindicated about his decision to completely focus on the USA squad.
There was some talk of a new loan move to Celtic in the summer but that deal would appear to be dead with Neil Lennon taking the job full time. We wish him all the best.
