Celtic’s seasoned goalkeeper Joe Hart found himself in hot water against Livingston on Saturday afternoon. He was shown a straight red card for a challenge that former Celtic manager Neil Lennon described as ‘reckless endangerment.’ The incident unfolded when Livingston’s Mohammed Sangare was making a run for the goal.
Hart, in an attempt to stop him, charged out of his box, resulting in a collision that left Sangare on the ground. Referee Beaton immediately showed Hart the red card, a decision later confirmed by VAR.
Neil Lennon, speaking live on Sky Sports, was critical of Hart’s actions. He stated, “It’s reckless from Joe. He’s fully committed, but you can’t make a challenge like that.”

Lennon also pointed out that the defence could have been better positioned to prevent the situation, specifically mentioning that Scales was not in line and could have offered better support.
While Hart’s red card was a significant setback, the defence also had a role to play in the incident and could have been better positioned to support their goalkeeper. Celtic didn’t blink after the sending off and saw out the game, winning it 3-0 in the end. A very tough game checked off the list.
