There is no hiding it tonight. Celtic have blown their chance at Champions League football with Neil Lennon’s mismanagement of his team on Wednesday evening.
Celtic should be through to the next round of the Champions League but a wasteful Celtic team set up with no striker on the pitch was our downfall on the night.
A hammer blow to Celtic’s hope was Edouard being out injured but with two strikers on the bench, Neil Lennon decided to cram all his favourites onto the field and it’s spectacularly backfired.
The big games, when our neck is on the line in Europe, Neil Lennon has been found wanting. The side who have put us out are nothing special, and with all due respect will go on to do very little in Europe this season.
It’s Cluj, it’s Copenhagen, it’s a mess. Celtic have capitulated spectacularly under Neil Lennon. Not bringing on a striker until we went 2-1 down and leaving Klimala on the bench.
Celtic now drop into Europa League qualifiers.
