Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon has resumed his career in club management by taking charge of Rapid Bucharest, ending a two-year hiatus since his tenure at Omonia Nicosia.

Lennon had successful stints at Celtic where he secured ten trophies and became the club’s third-most successful manager before he left Parkhead in 2021.
Lennon has committed to a two-year contract with the Romanian club, keeping him at the helm until at least 2026.
In a statement on Rapid Bucharest’s official website, Lennon expressed his admiration for the club’s project and the leadership of Mr. Sucu and Daniel Sandu.
Lennon also acknowledged the similarities between Rapid Bucharest’s passionate supporters and those of Celtic, highlighting his ambition to forge a strong connection with the fans through good performances and results.
He said: “I hope to create a strong connection between myself and the supporters, but this comes with achieving positive results and making the performance. It is my responsibility. I know they are very passionate supporters who love the club.
“They are similar to Celtic fans. I want us to perform; this is my main goal. I hope to meet the supporters soon, and I will do everything possible to perform with Rapid.”
It will see Neil Lennon take a step back from the punditry roles he has had in Scotland over the past few years. He’s predominantly worked with PLZ Soccer and Sky Sports.
