NEIL LENNON has been a busy man today as he fields several media interviews and a press conference as the Irishman discusses the future.
Today’s press conference was livelier than it was expected to be just 24 hours ago. The reason for the conference was to talk about the SPFL fixtures being announced and Neil Lennon’s hopes for the season. Today, it has been predominantly used as a platform for the David Turnbull transfer to Celtic and Neil Lennon gave Celtic fans more cause to get excited.
The Celtic manager hailed Turnbull signing as a ‘coup’ after Premier League sides were interested in the player. However, the manager went one further and hinted at more deals being done in the next few days in time for the players flying out for preseason.
“The deal will be concluded, hopefully today. Thankfully he’s chosen us over Premier League teams, which is quite a coup for us.”
“We’re hoping to get a few more in, hopefully to join us in the camp in Austria. We’re looking in three or four areas and we know the areas where we need to strengthen.” Lennon told CelticTV.
Celtic need defenders in for the qualifying campaign coming up in July. We reported earlier today that Andrew Gutman has reported back to Lennoxtown for training. No official confirmation he has left Charlotte Independence where he’s been on loan at the moment.
