NEIL LENNON has let Celtic fans know that new signing Marian Shved is NOT injured after he was left out of the Celtic squad for the flag day opener.
The bhoys smashed St Johnstone 7-0 vindicating Neil Lennon’s squad selection down to the substitutes he used so there can be no complaints.
Speaking to RecordSport he said:
“With Jozo and Jullien out today, I needed to bolster the bench with defenders just in case and that proved right with the injury to Elhamed.
“But Marian should be back in the squad. He’s only played 25 minutes in the last few weeks and I’ve got good depth there.”
This really speaks to Celtic’s depth in the attacking areas when Shved can’t even get into the matchday squad. The player got his first goal for the club against Kalju last week and would’ve been disappointed not to at least be on the bench for Saturday’s game.
He will get his chances and the Ukranian will know when they do come along he has to make the most of them. Celtic’s attacking threat against St Johnstone was unreal and the link up play was outstanding.
Johnston, Forrest, Christie and Eddie were giving St Johnstone the run around all day.
