NEIL LENNON and Ian Bankier have represented Celtic today at the funeral of Ibrox Legend Fernando Ricksen as he is laid to rest.
The Dutchman had been fighting Motor Neurone Disease for over six years when he passed away at the tragic age of 43. After his diagnosis the former pro set up a foundation and fund raised tirelessly up until the very end of his life.
A rival on the field and a player we loved to hate when he pulled on a Rangers jersey but we have nothing but respect for Fernando the man and how he dealt with his illness. It was great to see the Celtic and Gers support come together to mark the passing of Fernando.
Neil Lennon laid a wreath at Ibrox on Friday last week and he has now attended the Dutchman’s funeral to pay his respects and represent the Celtic family as a whole.
