Neil Lennon Addresses Celtic Fans Over Arrogant Claims

Neil Lennon has tied to address some of the continuous points made about him this season by supporters and pundits alike when it comes to his job as Celtic manager.

There has been so much criticism levied at the Irishman over this season and a lot of it has been warranted.

Lately, many have accused the manager of being arrogant because he won’t walk away from the job and continues to fight his former.

Given what the season could’ve been, the fans want those responsible for failings to be held accountable. With Peter Lawwell stepping down at the end of the season, all the Celtic fans attention turned to Lennon.

The Hoops boss has survived so many results other managers just wouldn’t have over the years. I can’t tell you a time in our modern day history when someone has managed to keep their job if they were purr of the title race in January and continued to spiral.

The Kilmarnock win gave the manager some breathing space for now but the fans are still clamouring for change and are at a loss as to why the manager hasn’t stepped aside.

Speaking before the game last night, Lenny tried to address his thinking.

“I can’t control it. I think some of it’s unfair. People say I’m showing an arrogant attitude, I’m not, or I’m belligerent, I’m not.” Neil Lennon told BBC Scotland.

“I’m just taking perspective on things. It’s been disappointing there’s no question about that, but there have been a lot of mitigating circumstances surrounding that.

“People say that’s an excuse. There’s no way this club and this team have gone from being 13 points ahead at the lockdown to what we’re going through this season without problems behind the scenes.

“Sometimes it’s a difficult thing to manage because this season has not been normal by any stretch of the imagination.”
