Ted Lasso actor Jason Sudeikis was asked to weigh in on a question about Celtic and Arsenal this week on Peter Crouch’s podcast.
The American actor is well known for his role as the loveable manager of fictitious Premier League side Richmond FC.
The actor has embraced football since taking on the role and has regularly appeared at games around the country and has been talking to many football personalities.
Arsenal fan Liam asked: Stark read out to Crouch and Sudeikis the message from a supporter: “A message from Liam. (It says) I’ve just had my first child with my wife Rosie. Little Lola was a miracle IVF baby so we’re over the moon.
“It’s only when listening to the last pod on favourite teams that it dawned on my I have a massive problem ahead.
“Rosie – who’s a Scottish cougar I met on the Thames some nine years ago now.”
Stark continued reading the fan’s message, adding: “She supports Celtic and has a massive family up in Scotland who are also mad for the club.
“Having been to an Old Firm derby and experiencing it sat just above the green army, I have a fond place in my heart for them too.
“My question problem is this – and Jason, it would be good to get your input on this – should my daughter grow up supporting Arsenal, as I hope and pray she will, or can she legitimately support Celtic as they are in a different league?”
Crouch clarified to the Ted Lasso actor: “Is his daughter OK to support Celtic and Arsenal?”
Jason asked: “How fare are they? They are literally in two different leagues? I think so, right? Yeah.”
The actor added: “I don’t think he can hold on to these children too tightly. They’ll sense it.
“It’ll just be Romeo and Juliet.
“Let them do their own thing and make sure they don’t drink poison!”
We all know as Celtic supporters who the little girl will end up supporting!
The Hoops support are passionate and Liam’s wife’s family will likely make sure of it.
Celtic have won the league this season while Arsenal blew their chance at glory. Going from a position of strength earlier in the season to blowing it big time in the last six weeks.
Former Celtic hero Kieran Tierney made the jump from Celtic to to Arsenal a few years back. The defender has won the FA Cup with the gunners.
