“Much Better” – Brendan Rodgers Pleased with Celtic Win

Following Celtic’s recent 2-0 victory over Livingston, manager Brendan Rodgers shared his thoughts on the team’s performance in an interview with BBC Sportsound.

Rodgers acknowledged that while the team didn’t score as many goals as they might have deserved, the overall display was significantly improved.

The Livi ‘keeper pulled off some amazing saves between the sticks, particularly in the first half while he did get his gloves behind a few in the second 45. David Martindale’s side did also pull off a few top last ditch blocks.

The manager highlighted the challenges of a busy December schedule, noting that it can often lead to a slower pace in games. However, he was pleased with how the team maintained their speed, a crucial aspect of their play.

He said, “We probably didn’t get the goals we deserved, but, from the off, you could see tempo and intensity was much better.

“December can be a grind with a lot of games. It could have been slow but our speed is so important.

“Against a team that was camped in we had to be bright and creative in our play to break them down.”

It was a much better performance from the Hoops on Saturday, a major improvement from recent weeks. Celtic showed a much higher intensity, and were keen to move to ball forward at pace.
