Former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele appears to be set to stay with Ligue 1 side Lyon, going into next season.
As quoted by the Daily Record, the Frenchman admitted that he is keen to stay with his parent club, shutting down any speculation that he wants to leave.
“I never said I wanted to leave. I get on well with the manager and my teammates and that has not changed since my first day at OL.
“I hope it will continue like that.
“The rumours of me leaving were not true. I said I was happy here and we move on.”
Last season, the 24-year old spent the second half of the season with Spanish side Atletico Madrid as they went on to lift the league title. Although, injury problems played a factor meaning Dembele didn’t get as many minutes as he would have liked.
In recent weeks, Diego Simeone’s side has been linked with a move for the French striker on another loan next season, including an option to buy of around £35 million.
They opted not to take up this option last season, which has left Celtic waiting to receive a 10% sell-on fee and with Dembele’s recent admission, it looks like the wait will continue to go on.
