Moussa Dembele Makes Final Transfer Decision

Former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has decided to leave his current club Lyon for free in the summer after running down his contract [BBC Scotland]. This news will be a blow to Celtic, who had hoped to receive a sell-on fee for the striker’s departure. Dembele, who was signed by Celtic in 2016 under Brendan Rodgers, became a fan favourite during his time at Celtic Park.

Despite his popularity among Celtic supporters, it would be crazy to think that Dembele would return to the club even on a FREE. The striker has already expressed his desire to play in one of Europe’s top leagues, and it’s unlikely that he would consider a move back to Scotland.

While Dembele’s departure from Lyon is not good news for Celtic in terms of a potential sell-on fee. We don’t think anyone at the club was banking on that money coming in.

During his time at Celtic, Dembele was a key player in the club’s success. His pace, power, and finishing ability made him a nightmare for opposing defenders, and he was a vital part of the team that won the INVINCIBLE domestic treble in the 2016/17 season.

Celtic supporters will undoubtedly look back on Dembele’s time at the club with fondness. His performances on the pitch, particularly in the Scottish Premiership and Champions League, endeared him to the Celtic support, and his departure from the club in 2018 was a bitter blow for many fans.

Dembele will always be remembered fondly by the Celtic support. Right now, the fans have a new hero in Kyogo Furuhashi who has been sensational since joining the club.
