Moussa Dembélé, the former Celtic striker, couldn’t resist taking a playful jab at Rangers after congratulating Celtic on their recent Scottish Cup victory.
The Frenchman, who enjoyed a highly successful two-year spell in Glasgow, took to social media to share his delight at his old club’s triumph, while also making a cheeky reference to the losers.
Dembélé’s time at Celtic was marked by prolific scoring and silverware. He netted an impressive seven goals in 10 games against Rangers, including a memorable hat-trick in a 5-1 thrashing in September 2016. His exploits at Parkhead earned him a move to Lyon for nearly £20 million, where he continued to showcase his striking prowess before eventually moving to Al-Ettifaq.

The striker’s fondness for Celtic was evident in his recent post on X (formerly Twitter) following Adam Idah’s dramatic late goal that secured the cup for the Premiership champions. Dembélé wrote:
> “Well done Bhoys! A double well deserved 👏🏾 Always on the winning side 👍🏾 and Rangers…🙄 I rather not say anything abt them 😂”
The post quickly went viral among Celtic supporters, who relished Dembélé’s subtle dig at their rivals. Many telling the striker to get up the road and re-sign for Celtic.
While a return to Celtic might be wishful thinking for many fans, Dembélé’s continued affection for the club and his willingness to engage in banter about the Glasgow rivalry keep him in the hearts of the supporters.
