Motherwell Man Reveals The Celtic Star Helping Him Settle Into Life In Scotland

Moving to a new country where you know no-one is a daunting task for anyone although footballers have to go through such a process almost every time they sign for a new club.

Motherwell man Mika Biereth recently joined the Premiership side on loan from Arsenal and has been adjusting to his new life in Lanarkshire. Indeed after a stirring display against Hibernian at the weekend in which he bagged a goal and assist alike to help his side to a 2-1 win, Biereth revealed the Celtic star who is helping him settle into his new home.

The 20-year-old is good friends with Matt O’Riley, who also netted at the weekend. Biereth revealed post-match against the Hibees that the Hoops midfielder has been of aid to him since his move North of the border. He said (Glasgow Times): “I spoke to Matt O’Riley. We were at Fulham before and both played for the Danish youth team. So since I’ve been here, I’ve texted him loads. He’s helped me out where to stay in Glasgow, where to go and eat and all that sort of stuff. Matt’s been really useful. I saw he scored as well, so I’ve sent him a little message.”

Off the park, it certainly seems as though O’Riley is a good person. Only 20, it would be an arduous task for young Biereth to immediately transition from London to Glasgow but the treble-winning midfielder has provided a helping hand which has made the switch a tad more seamless.
