Former Celtic defender Moritz Jenz has recently been singing his former club’s praises. The German centre-back spent half a year in Glasgow, and he and his family fell in love with the city.
His time with the Bhoys was cut short but Jenz is prospering in his homeland, currently playing for Wolfsburg. The 24-year-old is out injured at the minute, though, but has been talking about his old team.
Speaking to The Scottish Sun, Jenz believes Celtic’s start to the season was hard because of injuries and new players having to be bedded in. He said: “It was a bit of a difficult start to the season, with the new manager and then two new centre-halves joining. The new guys are young and aren’t very experienced at that level. They were coming to a big club and had to perform every week.”

Most of the champions’ new signings seem to have settled in by now, and the imposing defender made a notable claim about the Celts’ title hopes. He said: “But with Cameron [Carter-Vickers] back, there will be stability again, and they will stroll through the league like always.”
Already seven points clear of second place eight games in, some may argue Celtic are already ‘strolling’ the league. Having such a lead is hugely positive, although Brendan Rodgers’ men must keep up the consistency and ensure they don’t let things slide.
