Celtic have confirmed their double swoop in the transfer market, picking up two players from Korea.

The Hoops have secured the signatures of South Korean players Hyeokkyu Kwon and Hyunjun Yang, both on five-year deals.
The signings, announced on the same day, mark a significant strengthening of Celtic’s squad ahead of the new season, showing the club are not prepared to stand still, despite winning the treble last season.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers expressed his delight at the double signing. He said, “We’re also very pleased to bring Kwon to the club, on the same day that we’ve also announced the signing of Yang.”
Rodgers revealed that both players have been on Celtic’s radar for some time, indicating a strategic move by the club to secure young, international talent. “Again, he is a player that the club has been aware of for some time, so it’s great that we’ve completed the deal and I know that the player is delighted with the move,” Rodgers added on the Celtic Website.
The Celtic manager is looking forward to integrating the new signings into the squad and is optimistic about their contributions to the upcoming campaign. “We’re looking forward to both players joining up with the squad and playing their part in what we hope will be another successful campaign,” he said.
Kwon, a 22-year-old defensive midfielder, joins Celtic from Busan I-Park, while Yang, also a midfielder, was signed earlier in the day. Both players will join their countryman, Hyeongyu Oh, at Celtic, further strengthening the club’s South Korean connection.
Celtic’s active presence in the transfer market signals the club’s intent to build a formidable team for the upcoming season. With the addition of Kwon and Yang, Celtic is building a diverse and dynamic team that promises an exciting season ahead.
