More Details Released On Possible League Reconstruction

More details have been released surrounding the discussions of league reconstruction going into the 2022/23 campaign.

Last night, STV journalist Raman Bhardwaj revealed that talks would take place between clubs about a possible league reconstruction which would see both Celtic and Rangers Colts enter League 2 the season after next.

More details were later revealed around the idea, stating that both Glasgow sides would each pay £290,000 a season for five seasons, and with that, they cannot be promoted higher than League One.

Next season, it will be a big test for the Celtic youngsters as they prepare to play a full season in the fifth tier of Scottish Football – the Lowland League.

Up against some tough senior sides, it will be a good test for the academy sides and possibly an indicator of how they would fare at a higher level in the future.
There has been talk of league reconstruction for several years now, so it will be interesting to see how these discussions go between the clubs.
