Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has acknowledged the possibility of losing some of his star players amid ongoing transfer speculation but insists the club is well-prepared to handle any eventuality.

With key figures such as Kyogo and Cameron Carter-Vickers attracting interest from clubs abroad, Rodgers remains focused on the team’s goals for the season.
However, he emphasised that Celtic won’t stand in the way of players who wish to leave, provided the club’s valuation is met.
Rodgers addressed the situation directly, making it clear that the club prioritises players who are committed to the cause.
He said: [Celtic TV] “Yeah, all these what-ifs scenarios you have to be. I think the biggest thing is, if a player doesn’t want to be here, then go. And then it’s at that point, then the club has to get the best possible deal. So I don’t ever see the point of keeping someone who doesn’t want to be here.
“For us it’s all eventualities. That’s what we prepare for, whether it’s injuries, whether it’s transfers. I think you always have to be ready, and that’s our message. But for him, at this moment in time, he’s happy, he’s working well, scoring goals, and enjoying his football.”
Kyogo has been the subject of rumours linking him with Atlanta United in MLS, while Cameron Carter-Vickers has reportedly attracted interest from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
There have been no bids tabled for either of the pair, despite the speculation.
While Celtic’s ability to attract top talent has been key to their success, so too has their ability to reinvest wisely. Rodgers is keen to maintain the squad’s strength as the Hoops look to secure the Premiership title and advance in the Champions League.
The club will now hope to avoid major departures in the January window while preparing contingency plans should big-money offers materialise.
