Mikael Lustig Pays Ange Postecoglou the Ultimate Compliment

Former Celtic hero Mikael Lustig was back in town at the weekend and was at Celtic Park to watch the bhoys overcome a first half setback against Hibernian to win 3-1 in the end.

Lustig conducted the half time paradise Windfall and briefly spoke to the fans in attendance. Afterwards he spoke to the media and was asked if there were direct comparisons to be made between Ange’s team and Brendan Rodgers’ invincible side.

The Swede couldn’t deny the similarities and believed the current Celtic side is up there with that famous Rodgers side.

Many Celtic fans can very much relate to what Mikael said at the end of his answer. There’s something about this team that makes you feel less anxious when they’re going into the final ten minutes still needing to score a goal to win the game.

It’s not an arrogance, but a trust built up over the last two years that this team will continually knock at the door and more often than not get the breakthrough they need.

There have been plenty of times under Ange where the team has left it late but they’ve got the job done. The relentless nature of the attacking means we’re always odds on to hit the back of the net late on.
