Midfielder Told Parkhead Career is Over – Report

EWAN HENDERSON has been told he can leave Celtic with his contract set to expire in six months. [The Sun]

Rising through the academy, the midfielder made his debut during the Rodgers era but has struggled for minutes with Celtic ever since.

The latest reports suggest the ex hoops player, Shaun Maloney is keen to bring the midfielder and brother of Liam, who played for both Hibs and Celtic, to Easter Road. Aged 21, the time is right Ewan him to leave if he’s not in the manager’s plans.

If the midfielder hasn’t made a breakthrough by this age it is unlikely he ever will. He needs to start week-in week-out, as there is an undoubtedly quality player there.

Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi coming in has only pushed Ewan further down the pecking order.

Hibs will most likely push for a deal to go through this window, and will most likely be granted this, but if this does not work, Henderson can be signed for free and join the Hibs squad in the summer.

It is a shame that an academy graduate will not make it at Celtic, here’s hoping he can make it elsewhere just as long as it doesn’t come back to bite us!
