Midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi”s loan spell with Avispa Fukuoka came to an end over the weekend. His team played out the last game of their season against Sanfrecce Hiroshima, the Japan internationalist playing the full 90 in a 1-0 defeat.
Throughout his loan, Guchi made a total of 32 appearances for Avispa. He won the Japanese League Cup with the side, too.

As he makes his way back to Glasgow, many want to know what his future may look like. Brendan Rodgers has previously spoken about how his squad is bloated. He said (Football Scotland): “The squad is obviously a lot bigger than I would want.”
This, coupled with Avispa’s desire to make a deal for the 27-year-old permanent (Nikkan Sports), means a long-term future at Parkhead for Guchi doesn’t seem likely. One should never say never but based on current evidence, the midfielder staying at the club beyond January would be a significant surprise.
