Midfielder Reveals Parkhead Disappointment

This Saturday, Celtic look set to announce another pre-season friendly against Derry City, in their first game at Celtic Park in over four months.

With the game expected to be announced in the next few days, it seems as though the Northern Irish side have nipped in ahead of Dundalk in getting the chance to play the Scottish Champions.

Dundalk midfielder, Daniel Kelly admitted the club’s disappointment at missing out on this amazing opportunity for him and his team-mates when speaking to RTE Sports at the launch of their new streaming service, ahead of the new season.

“We were scheduled to play them on Saturday but the restrictions obviously didn’t allow us. So I think Derry have actually nipped in and they have the chance now to play them on Saturday, which is great for them.

We probably won’t get the chance to play them again now, unless we draw them in the Champions League or something. It would be a great experience but we wouldn’t have been able to go anyway, which is unfortunate.

Many of the Dundalk players will likely be disappointed at the fact they will not be able to play at Paradise.

It should be a good run out for the Bhoys when they face Derry City at Celtic Park, as they continue to prepare for the return to league action against Hamilton Accies on the 2nd of August
