Michael Stewart has confidently projected that Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic will clinch the Scottish Premiership title this season.

Stewart’s assertion goes beyond mere speculation; he believes that Rangers won’t even pose a significant challenge to Celtic in the title race.
The context of Stewart’s prediction stems from the developments over the past few months. Rangers, despite their considerable spending spree in the summer, faced a setback with the departure of manager Michael Beale. Philippe Clement’s appointment has brought some improvement to Rangers, but Stewart remains convinced that it won’t be enough to close the gap with Celtic.
Currently, Celtic leads the Premiership table with an eight-point advantage over Rangers, having played one game more. This comfortable lead has bolstered Stewart’s belief in Celtic’s superiority this season. He humorously suggested that St Mirren, who are six points behind Rangers, might have a better chance of entering the title race than Rangers.
“St Mirren are only six points behind Rangers, maybe they can get themselves into the title race,” Stewart humorously said on BBC Sportscene.
“It was a big game that Rangers have dropped points in. I don’t see Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side dropping enough points for Rangers to go immaculately through the season to get themselves into the fight for it.
“I think Celtic will win the title. But under Philippe Clement, Rangers have improved, but I don’t see it as enough to challenge for the title.”
There are still plenty of twists and turns ahead, with points to be dropped some both sides, but there’s no doubting Celtic are in a strong position with their lead.
