Michael Stewart Blown Away by Relentless Celtic Display

Michael Stewart has reacted to Celtic’s emphatic 5-1 win over Kilmarnock on Saturday afternoon, a performance that left fans at Celtic Park buzzing with excitement.

The Hoops played exciting attacking football, and Stewart couldn’t help but admire the pace and intensity with which Brendan Rodgers’ side played.

The former Hearts and Hibs midfielder turned pundit was full of praise for the way Celtic stormed forward, with the Hoops playing at an intensity that no side in the country will be able to cope with in that form.

He said: (BBC Radio Scotland), “It’s quite incredible [Celtic’s performance]. I was just saying to Stephen there during the game when Celtic are like that, the pace that they play with, there’s nobody that can live with them.

“And Brendan Rodgers will be absolutely over the moon because he has well and truly got a reaction there.“

The game was a brilliant display of attacking football. Reo Hatate was the standout player alongside Greg Taylor, with Hatate scoring twice, including a brilliant 25-yard goal that had the Celtic fans cheering.

Daizen Maeda and Cameron Carter-Vickers also scored, with Maeda causing problems with his pace and Carter-Vickers scoring from distance.

Kilmarnock’s Dan Armstrong scored a goal in the first half, but it didn’t change the fact that Celtic were flawless. Stewart’s comments made it clear – when Celtic play at their best, they’re unstoppable.

Tony Ralston finished it off with a goal in injury time, making it a perfect afternoon for Celtic fans to remember.

With the win, Celtic extended their lead to 16 points at the top of the Scottish Premiership, all but sealing another title in what has been a dominant campaign.

It’s clear that when Celtic play like this, they are unstoppable, and now it’s a matter of seeing how many more of these strong performances they can produce before the end of the season, given the inconsistency since the New Year.
