The media began their spin this weekend ahead of the Glasgow Derby by writing inflammatory headlines.
John Kennedy’s quotes taken out of context and served up on a headline the Record knows will have rival fans clicking.

John Kennedy did not declare Celtic the best team in Scotland without a massive caveat.
‘ON OUR DAY’ was the words used by Kenned, a qualifier omitted by several outlets as they pandered to the hordes.
It’s clear to see what John was getting at if you chose not to attach willful ignorance to your approach to his comments after a resounding 6-0 win.
“I have full belief in the squad we have here, that on our day we are still the best team in the country. One hundred-per-cent. That’s the reaction you have to have. There was always going to come a point where we had a setback.” Kennedy told Celtic TV.
“It was a big one for us this season but the best always bounce back. It’s easy to give up and say ‘oh, we’ve had our time’, but I have said it to the players, it is very much about how we respond to that.”
“We just have to be much more clinical at the top end and not be switching off at set-pay moments. That’s been the outcome of the games recently. We will be fully focused on that and we will try to build our performances.
“Our level of performance against Rangers was good, I thought it sent a message that the gulf is not as big as everybody thinks it is. But ultimately it does come down to results so we want to take that one step further.”
John fully recognised Celtic haven’t been good enough. But he knows when this side are motivated they are a very dangerous team. It’s just not happened this season.
Free flowing attacking football on show against Livingston shows we’re going in the right direction and by no means did John claim to be other than second best over the piece.
It doesn’t make for quite the same story if you call it as you see it. But as we know, the papers have no interest in this kind of thing. It’s why Celtic fan media continues to flourish.
