ALLY MCCOIST was asked by TalkSport pundit Laura woods where the Ibrox club would be in six years time and his response did not disappoint.
Woods asked: “How will Rangers be faring?”.
McCoist replied as cited on FootballScotland: “In six years time? “I think we’ll be doing fine.
“We will certainly be back in the Champions League, and just to annoy everybody, we’ll be going for five-in-a-row.”
McCoist may be portraying this as a bit of a joke but he will absolutely believe the club will be in a position in the next five years to win the league and negotiate through four qualifiers to get to the group stage of the Champions League.
Celtic have dominated for years, even against the old club.
The sense of delusion is strong at Ibrox and has been for years. You only have to look at the arrogance coming from a team and fanbase who just watched their Glasgow rivals win a treble treble.
Celtic need to work hard to stay the top club in Scotland but they’re in a fantastic position to drive home their advantage. The pressure is on the Ibrox club to step up and while they talk a good game that could send SHOCKWAVES through Scottish football, turning up and not being able to win games consistently has been their downfall.
