McBurnie Over Griffiths; Clarke Picks Changed Side for Slovakia

We were hopeful Steve Clarke would start Leigh Griffiths against Slovakia this afternoon but the Scotland boss has opted to keep the striker on the bench.

Instead, Oli McBurnie will get his fourteenth chance to score his first Scotland goal in today’s Nation’s League game.

There’s only one Celtic starter in today’s lineup and it’s the man of the moment Ryan Christie who has got the nod.

Greg Taylor, Callum McGregor and Leigh Griffiths could all see game time later on in the game or could be saved for the midweek game against Israel.

Scotland qualified for their first major tournament in 22 years on Thursday night, so the team is riding high. A whole new defence and goalkeeper take their place today against Slovakia with former Invincible Craig Gordon starting in goals for hos country.

Kieran Tierney gets to play his natural position at left-back with Andy Robertson picking up a knock.
