McAvennie Takes Unnecessary Dig at Celtic Man

There are not many people with will disagree with Frank McAvennie’s assertion that John Kennedy should NOT be handed the full-time Celtic job this summer.

The former striker told Football Insider the club needs an overhaul and that means John moving on.

While Frank did say he would like to see John go out and get some experience elsewhere, he also disparaged the interim Celtic coach and his ability to get the team worked up.

“ Celtic need a clear-out. They need brand new management. The players need to go into pre-season with different people and fresh ideas. They need new players, a new manager and new coaching staff.

“I would personally like to see John go away and get a manager’s job where he can make mistakes. Celtic are too big.

“I know John, and he wouldn’t liven me up for a game. God, liven up.”

I, myself, have also been in the company of John Kennedy on several occasions and he’s been a subdued and reserved figure. It doesn’t qualify me to say what type of coach he is and how he can get a team revved up.

Frank, once again opening his mouth and letting his belly rumble.

There’s no doubt John should heat out this summer and get more experience. He has been part of some phenomenal times at the club and is highly respected amongst his peers. Frank making that remark lacks class.
