Matt O’Riley has been called up to the Denmark senior side for the first time.

The 22-year-old sensation’s remarkable form for Celtic this season has earned him a call-up to the senior Danish squad. This comes as Kasper Dolberg, the regular for Denmark, has temporarily stepped away from international duties to be with his partner and newborn twins in Belgium.

O’Riley’s rapid ascent from the Denmark Under-21 squad to the senior national team is because of his outstanding performances in the Scottish Premiership and the UEFA Champions League make it clear why he deserves this opportunity.
He could be in line to make his debut on Tuesday against San Marino.
Under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers, O’Riley’s game has gone up another level, scoring more times in the first eight games of this season, than he did in over 50 appearances last term.
The English-born midfielder has been instrumental in Celtic’s performances this season, contributing significantly to their campaign.
In the Scottish Premiership, O’Riley has been nothing short of sensational, netting five goals and providing two assists in the early stages of the season.
O’Riley’s prowess in the UEFA Champions League is equally impressive. Despite only featuring in two games so far, he delivered a memorable moment by providing the assist for Celtic’s only goal in the tournament. His perfectly weighted through-ball found Kyogo, who converted it into a memorable goal that will be etched in the minds of Celtic fans for years to come.
The call-up to the Danish national team marks a significant milestone in Matt O’Riley’s career.
