Celtic Game Changer for Second Half of the Season

CELTIC will commence the second half of the season on December 17th.

Since the bhoys last kicked a competitive ball, they’ve travelled to Sydney, had some time off and trained in Portugal.

The Hoops took part in a behind-closed-door friendly with Rennes on Saturday, December 10th, the game finishing 4-3 to the French side. But it’s got us excited about the second half of the season.

Callum McGregor got his first run out in months against Rennes and came through the game unscathed. While Callum’s recovery is a boost in itself, the fact we now have Matt O’Riley back up the pitch is a game-changer.

It might just have been a friendly encounter on a training field, but Matt grabbed two goals from his more attacking position. In Callum’s absence, O’Riley has done an admirable job in the holding midfielder role, but he’s much more effective going forward.

If the Hoops can keep Callum McGregor fit, we expect the Danish under-21 star to have a stand-out second half of the season.

Matt has shown what he can do in a Celtic jersey, but as he gets set to hit the one-year mark in Glasgow, we expect him to kick on and really up his game.
