Brighton are reportedly nearing a deal to sign Celtic’s Matt O’Riley, with negotiations progressing towards a record-breaking transfer fee for the Scottish club.

Following the withdrawal of Southampton from the race and several unsuccessful bids from Atalanta, Brighton has emerged as the leading club for O’Riley’s signature.
The initial bid made on Monday by Brighton includes a substantial up-front payment of £25 million, supplemented with additional bonuses and a sell-on clause. This offer, if accepted, would eclipse Celtic’s previous record transfers, notably those of Kieran Tierney to Arsenal and Jota to Al-Ittihad.
Despite the advanced stage of club negotiations, personal terms between O’Riley and Brighton have yet to be finalised. According to SunSport, these discussions are ongoing, and there’s a possibility that O’Riley could complete his medical at Brighton before this weekend.
With O’Riley looking like he’s heading for the exit door, Celtic needs to act quickly and get some quality in to replace the star player.
