Matt O’Riley’s transition to the Premier League has hit some stumbling blocks, but that hasn’t stopped clubs from circling.

After joining Brighton from Celtic for a fee north of £25m last summer, the Danish international has struggled to establish himself as a regular under Fabian Hürzeler, with injuries limiting his game time. Despite this, interest remains strong, particularly from elsewhere in the English top flight and Serie A.

The Athletic reports that Brighton are not currently looking to offload the 24-year-old, despite his frustration over limited minutes. While the club are open to doing business for any player if the price is right, they are not actively seeking a sale.

O’Riley made a strong impression at Celtic, becoming a key figure in midfield and playing a vital role in multiple title-winning campaigns. His technical ability and versatility attracted attention long before his move to the south coast.

Should a suitable offer come in, Brighton may be willing to negotiate, but for now, they’re keen to see whether O’Riley can make a greater impact in the season ahead.

Celtic has a release clause in his contract, and it’s a straight 10%, so the Hoops can expect a nice wee financial boost if the player does make a move this summer.
