Masters Football: Celtic’s Kelvin Wilson Sticks Hearts Player in Headlock

Kelvin Wilson was back representing Celtic in the Masters football competition which sees players of yesteryear turn on the style again.

During the tournament’s opener against Hearts, Kelvin Wilson and Ryan Stevenson found themselves tussling over the ball in the corner. In what can only be described as a Sunday, five-a-side league fracas. The pair ended up on the ground after Kelvin successfully defended his area. Once the ball left, the former Celtic centre-back put Stevenson in a vice-like grip.

Both of them were put in the sin bin for their troubles.

Celtic won the game 2-1, thanks to a brace from Kris Commons. The Hoops team boast players like Gary Hooper, Joe Ledley, Simon Donnelly, Mark Wilson and Dorus de Vries.

The tournament is being played at Braehead Arena and is the second time in a row it’s been put on after over a decade of being shelved.

We’ll be hoping the bhoys can get one over their Glasgow counterparts before the end of the evening.
